Profile - Richard Drill Richard J. Drill, 1926-2006, attended Rutgers University and graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois with a BS in Architectural Engineering. He was elected to the Gargoyle Honor Society.Dick served in the U.S. Air Force as a Second Lieutenant, Navigator Bombadier during World War II. He flew 29 missions and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and several air medals. He was in the construction business for over 40 years. After working as a consulting structural engineer, Dick became a principal of Max Drill Inc. He cofounded Drill Construction Co. and served as President for 25 years. He served as past Co-chairman of the Board. Dick's vast experience in award construction projects was important to the firm. Some projects include Christ Hospital, Branch Brook Skating Arena, Municipal Square Associates, S. Klein's Department Store, and Binghamton Square Shopping Center. Dick also served as President of Van Buren Construction Co., a residential development company. He was a registered Architect. Dick gave back to the community in several ways. He sat on the Board of Overseers of the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University and was a member of the Board of the Mental Health Association of Essex County, creating a domicile foundation. He was also a Director of the Lautenberg Foundation for Cancer Research. < BACK |
